Our Achivements

We are an AgriTech company aiming to use tech to revolutionize and promote organic farming and the agribusiness value chain by particularly empowering small/medium scale organic farmers to become more productive as well as ensuring farm produce is traceable, natural and pesticide-free.

We are creating a sustainable safe, productive and transparent farming and food supply chain to solve endemic food insecurity, underutilization of resources and rising youth unemployment in sub-Saharan Africa. We are creating hardware and software tools to enable smart farming and increase of yields. Our innovation also introduces a tool to monitor farmers’ planting process to be free of chemicals and harmful pesticide for better growing cycles and culture. We also promote sustainable seedling project to encourage farmers to grow crops with the right seeds and fertilizers in place. Our e-commerce feature also provides logistics and off-take of farmers’ products from the farm to the market.

Supremart Tech Styles

We provide in depth techniques on how to keep water in the soil ranging from keeping soil moisture to evaporation reduction and how to make better use of seasonal rainfall. Water management also encompasses how to harvest water through a series of techniques

  • During dry periods, some soils are more and some are less in a position to supply crops with water.
  • The ability of a soil to absorb and store water largely depends on the soil composition.
  • Soils rich in clay can store up to three times more water than sandy soils.
  • Soil organic matter acts as storage of water.
  • Crop residue or a cover crop protects the soil, prevents crusting on the surface, and slows runoff.
  • Roots, earthworms and other soil life maintain cracks and pores in the soil.
  • Less water runs off, and more sinks into the soil.

Harvesting water

Filtration increase can be done through planting pits, using contour buds and catchment strips, as well as road and half‑moon micro catchments. Other management techniques include improving water storage and establishing drip irrigation systems.

  • A thin layer of mulch can considerably reduce the evaporation of water from the soil.
  • It shades the soil from direct sunlight and prevents the soil from getting too warm.
  • Shallow digging of the dry topsoil can help to reduce the drying up of the soil layers beneath (it breaks the capillary vessels).
  • During strong rains, only a part of the water infiltrates into the soil.

Dryland farming is a technique that has been utilized in areas where annual precipitation totals 20 inches or less. The early Spanish and Italian pioneers of the wine industry brought dry farming methods with them to grow wine grapes. It is based on cultivating the soil to maintain the natural moisture provided by winter rains. Dry farming can be used to grow a number of crops including tomatoes, grapes, olives, potatoes, and squash
